Katrina Sun Breese is the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement at AAUW. She is responsible for developing and implementing strategy for and managing all aspects of AAUW’s philanthropic and dues revenue-generating programs. She is deeply committed to the mentorship and economic empowerment of women and girls, who go on to serve as change makers within their families and greater communities.
Katrina has cultivated nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, specializing in the education and healthcare industries. Prior to joining AAUW in 2021, Katrina was the Vice President of Development and External Affairs at APIA Scholars where she led the fundraising, communications and programs teams. She has also held leadership roles at organizations such as PDK International, the Inova Health Foundation and The George Washington University.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from The George Washington University and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). Katrina and her husband currently reside in Northern Virginia and are proud parents of their two children.
