After more than 26 years of keeping AAUW members up to date on policy matters, Action Alert will no longer be published. With the advent of AAUW’s website, as well as faster electronic modes of communication, Action Alert readership has waned in favor of Washington Update and other e-mail vehicles, including Action Network.

Tensions are rising on the Washington University campus in response to the selection of alumna Phyllis Schlafly as the 2008 commencement speaker and recipient of an honorary doctorate of humane letters, Inside Higher Ed reported.
