Serve on an Educational Foundation Panel

Contribute to the advancement of women and break through barriers to women's achievement in education and the workplace by serving on an AAUW Educational Foundation Panel.

The AAUW Educational Foundation Board of Directors seeks panelists for the following fellowship, grants, and awards panels:

  • American Fellowships
  • International Fellowships
  • Selected Professions Fellowships
  • Research & Projects Community Action Grants
  • Research & Projects Career Development Grants


PANELISTS' RESPONSIBILITIES

Panelists engage in an online process to review applications to select awardees for recommendation to the AAUW Educational Foundation Board of Directors for approval.

TERMS

Terms are two years and begin Jan. 1 of each year; approximately half of the panelists are appointed each year.

PANELIST VITA SUBMISSION

Prospective panelists must complete an AAUW vita form.

AAUW vita forms must be submitted by September 5. Vita forms submitted after that date will be held for future appointments.



Areas of Expertise Needed by Program
American, International, and Selected Professions panelists should have earned a doctorate or professional degree and be currently employed in one of the following fields: anthropology, architecture, art/art history, biological sciences, botany/ecology, business administration, chemistry, computer science/MIS, economics, education, engineering, English language/literature, foreign language/literature, history (U.S., European or world),  journalism/communications, law, linguistics/ESL, medicine, physical sciences, physics, political science/international relations, psychology, public administration, or sociology.

The Research & Projects Community Action Grants panelists should have:
  • experience in grant writing and/or grant administration, including program evaluation, dissemination, and selection
  • experience in planning and budgeting for community-based projects and programs
  • knowledge of education and equity issues facing women and girls in a broad range of communities

The Research & Projects Career Development Grants Panel should have:

  • experience in grant writing and/or grant administration, including evaluation and selection
  • experience in planning and budgeting for similar projects and programs
  • knowledge of contemporary career areas for women and issues concerning women and girls
  • knowledge of institutions of higher education, financial concerns of returning women students, and accreditation requirements
