The IFUW Travelship Award was established in 1977 to honor Betty Cook Rottmann’s participation in the International Federation of University Women. Two awards of $2,500 each are given to AAUW members to support their participation at the triennial International Federation of University Women conference. IFUW Travelship Awards have allowed women to attend each IFUW conference since 1980. The awards fund conference attendance, and recipients are encouraged to share their international experience with AAUW branches and communities.

Effective August 21, 2006, the AAUW Educational Foundation Board of Directors, took action to place the 2007 IFUW Travelship Awards program on hold status until June 30, 2008.
