Nearly Two-Thirds of College Students Say They Have Been Sexually Harassed
Report Reveals Prevalence and Pervasiveness of Sexual Harassment on Campus
The AAUW Educational Foundation's new research report, Drawing the Line: Sexual Harassment on Campus, provides the most comprehensive findings to date on sexual harassment among undergraduate college students. From a nationally representative survey of both male and female undergraduates 18 to 24 years old, the report broadens our knowledge of how college students identify, experience, and react to forms of sexual harassment.
Drawing the Line is a continuation of the AAUW Educational Foundation's groundbreaking research on gender equity in education, moving beyond the Hostile Hallways of public schools to the campus corridors of colleges and universities. The report also supports the AAUW Building a Harassment-Free Campus initiative through related campus action projects, part of AAUW's multiyear, programmatic focus — Education as the Gateway to Women's Economic Security.
