Educational Foundation Position Descriptions

President

Presides at all meetings of the Foundation, including the Foundation Executive Committee and the annual meeting. Represents the Foundation publicly. Works with other organizations in pursuing common goals. Serves ex officio on the Association board and all Foundation committees. Serves as an adviser of the Fellowships Fund. Appoints the chairs and members of special committees of the Foundation. Makes an annual report to the Association board. Is responsible for the administration of the Foundation as directed by the board and/or the bylaws. (Full description)

Development Vice President

Serves as chair of the Program Committee, as a member of the Executive Committee, and as a member of the AAUW Program Development Committee. Serves as the president in the president’s or development vice president’s absence. Oversees the various awards programs and panels. Participates in planning the ongoing efforts to educate members and the public about the Foundation. Participates in planning leadership development for state EF chairs. Plans Foundation-related activities for the biennial convention.(Full description)

Program Vice President

Secretary

Serves as chair of the Foundation Bylaws Committee and the Reading Committee for the annual meeting. Serves on the Executive Committee. Oversees the preparation of the official minutes of the Foundation, the board, and the Executive Committee. Is responsible for keeping the policies of the Foundation and the working rules of the various Foundation committees updated in accordance with board action. Director

Serves on the Development, Program, or Finance committees. Performs the general responsibilities of board members as described above in representing and promoting the Foundation to the membership and the public. (Full description)
