Program Vice President Position Description

The general responsibilities of all members of the AAUW Educational Foundation Board of Directors are detailed in the basic Board job description.

The Foundation program vice president has the following additional responsibilities

  • Serves as chair of the Program Committee and as a member of the AAUW Program Development Committee.
  • Consults and works with the development vice president in order to insure mutually supportive goals and activities.
  • Plans, with the Program Committee and staff, the ongoing efforts to educate members, branches and states about the Foundation and its programs.
  • Oversees the various awards programs and panels.
  • Plans, with the development vice president and staff, leadership development for state Educational Foundation chairs.
  • Communicates with state and branch Educational Foundation chairs by utilization of the various periodicals and printed materials, and personally as the need arises.
  • Participates with staff on the development of Foundation program materials.
  • Plans the Foundation related activities for the biennial Association convention with the development vice president, committee members and staff.
  • Prepares a written report for the annual meeting of the Foundation.
