Overview of the position: Promote the AAUW Educational Foundation's mission, research, and programs and oversee Foundation fundraising activity in the branch and community.

Overall responsibilities:

• Inform branch members and your community about the Foundation research and program efforts and encourage them to give generously to ensure that these efforts continue. 

• Work with other branch officers and committees to integrate Foundation research, programs, and fundraising efforts with other branch priorities. 

• Evaluate previous branch Foundation fundraising efforts and identify opportunities for growth. 

• Recruit a branch Foundation team to help plan and implement branch Foundation fundraising activities and other initiatives. 

• Develop a fundraising action plan with measurable goals. Coordinate this effort with your state EF chair to ensure branch goals are included in the state fundraising plan.

• Submit in a timely manner all Foundation contributions received from individuals and raised through branch events and other initiatives. 

• Ensure that the branch budget reflects Foundation priorities. 

Specific responsibilities to your state: Maintain regular contact with your state EF chair. Share successful program and fundraising ideas with your state and other branches.

Specific responsibilities to the Association: Adhere to Foundation contribution deadlines, fiscal management policies, and charitable tax laws. Disseminate Foundation research and other program information to your branch members and local community.

Specific leadership skills helpful to the position: Fundraising, planning and goal setting, program planning and development, communications, team building, budgeting, and fiscal management.

Time commitments: Along with the time necessary to accomplish the above responsibilities, serve on the branch board of directors and other committees as assigned. Attendance at state conventions, regional conferences, and the AAUW national convention is encouraged.
